Prints by Edward Hassell show Marylebone’s churches in 1833, when several of them were still new additions to the street. He drew the views from nature and on stone for Thomas Smith’s history of the parish. All Souls at Langham Place, Holy Trinity and the parish church on Marylebone Road are the main landmarks, with further churches at Bryanston Square and Lisson Grove, and the architects named include John Nash, John Soane, Robert Smirke and Thomas Hardwick. The old manor house stands apart as an older survival.
