Trained as an engineer, he settled in Switzerland, opened his Davos photographic business in 1910 and also worked in Sils. These heliogravure plates come from Manfred Curry's Le patinage artistique, published in French by Delagrave in 1935. They include pairs skating by Lilli Gaillard-Scholz and Willi Petter, studies of Gillis Grafström and Cecilia Colledge and compositions built around the skaters' shadows, with hockey at Davos and curling at St Moritz.
