Norges Geografiske Oppmåling
Norges Geografiske Oppmåling (Norwegian Geographical Survey) was the national agency responsible for mapping and geodetic work in Norway. It was established in 1773 under the Danish-Norwegian union and continued its work after Norway's independence. The agency was tasked with creating accurate topographic maps, conducting land surveys, and advancing geodetic studies for Norway. In 1986 it was renamed Statens kartverk (Norwegian Mapping Authority, NMA).
