Tolwinski, Konstanty

Konstanty Tołwiński (1876-1961) was a Polish geographer and cartographer, a specialist in the geology of the Carpathians in Poland and in what is now Ukraine, especially the geology of crude oil and natural gas deposits. As a geological advisor to the state-owned company Polmin, he discovered natural gas deposits. From 1945 as geological advisor to the Central Board of the Oil Industry and the Board of Geological Enterprises and the Oil Exploration Enterprise, he discovered new oil fields, for which he received a State Award in 1952
