This is the Decca edition of this chart. The Decca Navigator System was an early hyperbolic radio navigation system used primarily by ships and aircraft. The chart includes a specific Decca lattice overlays, showing Decca Navigation Lines (Lattice), a set of hyperbolic lines, which correspond to the signals received from the Decca Navigator transmitters, helping mariners plot their position more accurately at sea. The Decca Navigator System was extensively used in the mid-20th century but was phased out by more advanced systems like GPS by the 2000s. These charts are historically significant, reflecting a transitional phase in maritime navigation technology.
