Bujalski, Boleslaw

Bolesław Dominik Bujalski (1888-1945) was a Polish geologist, specialist in geological cartography, tectonics and petroleum geology, an expert in the geology of the Carpathians. Throughout his professional life, he was involved in cartography in the stratigraphically and tectonically complex Flysch Carpathians, explaining many details of their structure. He participated in the preparation of the Geological Map of Poland; he is the author of one of the four sheets of this map completed before the war, namely the Carpathian sheet Nadwórna (1938); the outbreak of the war prevented the completion of other sheets. He co-authored of the Geological Map of the Polish Eastern Carpathians, and authored many other maps, of which only a few have survived.
