Faulkner, Thomas

Thomas Faulkner (1777–1855) was an English bookseller and topographer of West London. He is known for three principal works that became standard 19th-century references for the localities of Chelsea, Fulham and Kensington, each of which contained detailed maps. He was also an occasional contributor to the Gentleman's Magazine. "An Historical and Topographical Account of Chelsea and its Environs" appeared in 1810, followed in 1813 by "An Historical and Topographical Account of the parish of Fulham, including the hamlet of Hammersmith", and in 1820 his "History and Antiquities of Kensington". In 1839 he published his "History and Antiquities of Hammersmith", and in 1845 "History and Antiquities of Brentford, Chiswick, and Ealing".
