The 35th Giro d'Italia was dominated by Fausto Coppi, one of cycling's all-time greats, who claimed his fourth Giro victory with an impressive display of climbing and time-trialing prowess. Coppi, riding for the Bianchi team, secured the maglia rosa (pink jersey) by building a commanding lead over his rivals, particularly in the mountain stages. Swiss rider Hugo Koblet, the defending champion, finished second overall, while Giuseppe Minardi of Italy took third place. The race featured memorable climbs, including the Pordoi Pass, where Coppi solidified his dominance. The 1952 edition underscored Coppi's legacy as "Il Campionissimo" (The Champion of Champions) and is remembered as a classic in Giro history.
