Bickham, George

George Bickham the elder (1684-1758) and George Bickham the younger (c.1706-1771) were father-and-son, London-based engravers, printers & publishers. They collaborated in a number of publications, and we include the works of both together here. Bickham the elder first published "The British Monarchy" in 1743; the later 1749-54 reissue included the curious - and now highly prized - county map prospects, in perspective or bird's-eye view. Bickham the Younger was one of the first English caricaturists; he also published pornographic prints.
