Statistisches Landesamt Baden-Wurttemberg

Statistische Landesamt Baden-Württemberg (Baden-Württemberg State Statistical Office) is the state authority with responsibility for collection and analysis of statistical, economic, societal and environmental data, including topographical and geological surveying and mapping. It was originally founded in 1821 as the Statistical Topographical Bureau of the Kingdom of Württemberg. Its responsibilities reached their greatest extent under the Weimar Republic. The Württemberg State Statistical Office was dissolved in 1945; a new Statistical Office for the new federal state of Baden-Württemberg was established in 1953.
