TITLE/CONTENT OF MAP: 'Holland's Leaguer, or Manor House of Paris Garden'

The map shows the Parish of Christ Church, Surrey (now in Southwark) in 1746. Blackfriars bridge is marked at the top of the map close to the centre, and the "site of Great Surrey Street" (Blackfriars Road) is marked running vertically down from the river. Recognisable locations and streets on the map include Upper Ground, Hopton's Alms Houses are marked adjacent to present day Hopton Street (which is marked on the map at "The Green Walk" and Willow Street. Gravel Lane is now Holland Street. The Tate Modern is now situated at the extreme right hand edge of the map, the London Television Centre at the top left. The church itself is shown on the map where the currnt church (rebuilt in 1958) stands to this day, adjacent to Blackfriars Road.

DATE PRINTED: The date of publication stated on the title page of the volume within which the print was published was 1825. The publication date printed on the sheet itself is 1st December 1822.
